Fanning Hand-Tufted Carpet, Slate

Hand-tufted rugs are created using a hand-held tool that punches the yarn through a canvas backing to achieve both cut-pile and loop-pile rugs. A second fabric, typically cotton, is attached to the back of the carpet to hold the yarn securely in place. Hand-tufted carpets are typically heavier weight and have a higher, dense pile that provides a wonderful soft layer underfoot.
