Machine-tufted carpets are created by thousands of threaded needles punching yarn through a lightweight, primary mesh backing. Once the carpet is completed, a latex adhesive is applied to the back to create a secure secondary backing. Tufted carpets can range from simple solid cut or loop piles to very detailed multi-color designs created on more intricate tufting machines.
