Most living rooms are well-suited to 8' × 10' or 9' × 12' rugs, offering a balanced foundation for everyday layouts.
At a minimum, the rug should extend beneath the front legs of the sofa and surrounding seating.
For a more expansive, grounded look, a 10' × 14' rug can anchor the entire arrangement with ease.
