Kazak

Bounded by the rugged mountains and lush valleys of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, the Kazak Khanate originated wool on wool Caucasian rugs with a playful color palette of contrasting hues. While Kazak rugs can feature allover patterns of assertive and geometric large-scale designs, they are recognized for their monumental and graphic medallion compositions, especially the Sevan and Karachopf types.
