Whimsical Table Guide
Building a whimsical table is easiest when you choose one maker or motif to anchor it. Use the categories below to find the pieces that suit your style.
Coralla Maiuri Porcelain
Italian artist Coralla Maiuri paints her porcelain with seasonal scenes, night skies and classical motifs. Her Dafne, Winter, Autumn and Night Sky collections include rim chargers, dinner and dessert plates, soup coupes, salad bowls, a teacup and saucer and a Michelangelo teapot, all made to mix with one another. Shop Coralla Maiuri.
Astier de Villatte Ceramics
Made in Paris, Astier de Villatte's ceramics bring a softly imperfect, handmade feel to a whimsical table. Look for the Flying-Landed Butterfly and Two Butterflies plates, the daisy-edged Marguerite dinner plates and platters, and Setsuko saucers decorated with pine cones, ivy and birds.
Serax and Bella Porcelain
Serax's Midnight Flowers collection pairs deep, dark grounds with oversized blooms across dinner plates, pasta bowls, cups and a teapot. Bella Porcelain adds a lighter note with blush plates, heart dishes and gold-trimmed trays that are made for sharing. Shop Serax.
Potomak Serveware
Potomak's serving bowls and plates come in mother-of-pearl, Pearly Rose, Sunshine and Le Monde finishes, with an iridescent glow that makes them the centerpiece of any spread. Mother-of-pearl dessert bowls bring the same finish to each place setting.
Glassware, Flatware and Linens
Little Butterfly tea glasses and carafes, handmade coupes and colored liquor glasses keep the mood light. Be Home's seashell spoons and spreaders, Mepra flatware and Cutipol serving pieces add detail, and Borgo delle Tovaglie and Tessitura Toscana Telerie napkins bring florals, stripes and toile to the table. Shop table linens.
