This antique Heriz rug, hand-knotted from wool, measures 11'10" x 17'2" and originates from Iran. It features a distinctive traditional design characteristic of Heriz Persian rugs.
The rug's central design showcases a prominent geometric medallion in shades of yellow, navy blue, light blue, and brown. This medallion is set against a field of rich red, which displays various intricate patterns. Large, contrasting corner spandrels in cream or off-white frame the central field, providing visual balance. The complex border system includes multiple bands filled with geometric and stylized floral motifs, echoing the rug's overall palette of red, cream, blue, yellow, and brown tones.
Constructed from durable wool fibers, this rug is hand-knotted, reflecting the traditional craftsmanship of Persian rug weaving. The hand-knotted construction ensures both longevity and a unique texture. This large area rug is suitable for enhancing the aesthetic of spacious living rooms, grand dining areas, or large entryways, providing a foundational element to traditional or transitional interior designs.
