Daum rediscovered this technique in 1900 and further developed it in 1968 making it his specialty. These sculptures are made by melting crystal fragments within a mold that creates a softness of contours that cannot be obtained with blown glass. Pâte de cristal produces a brilliant material that is filled with intense colors and a myriad of subtle shades that all contribute to its uniqueness.
